Privacy Policy
Who we are
Homie On Tour is software for touring artists and their teams. The Homie app helps a tour run its day-to-day: show schedules and day sheets, venue advance details, crew coordination, guest lists, merch inventory and an in-person merch register, show settlement, and audience tools: signup forms, and short polls where fans can share feedback with the artist. Not every feature is available on every account yet.
Who this policy covers
Homie handles information about three groups of people, and it treats them differently:
- Homie users — artists, tour managers, band, and crew who create an account and use the app.
- Guests and fans — people who don’t use Homie themselves, but whose information a tour enters into it: guest-list entries, merch customers, and fans who sign up to hear from an artist or answer post-purchase merch polls. For this information, the artist and their team decide what is collected; Homie processes it on their behalf to provide the service.
- Venue and business contacts — venue staff, promoters, and settlement contacts whose name, role, email, or phone number a tour enters to advance and settle its shows. Homie processes this on the tour’s behalf too.
Information we collect
From Homie users
- Account details: your name, email address, and password, your role and permission levels on each tour, and a record of which version of the Terms of Use you accepted and when.
- Tour content you enter: schedules and day sheets, venue advance information and venue contact details, travel details your team enters (like flights), guest lists, merch items, inventory counts and sales records, settlement figures, and files you upload (like settlement sheets and advance documents).
- Billing: subscriptions are purchased through Stripe Checkout in your browser, or as an in-app purchase billed by Apple in the iOS app. Homie keeps records of your subscription status and periods; for App Store purchases we also process Apple transaction records (transaction identifiers, product, period dates, and the anonymous account token that ties the purchase to your Homie account). Your card details stay with Stripe or Apple. Homie never sees or stores card numbers.
- How the app is used: we keep track of which screens and features get used, and the app sends us a report when it crashes, so we can fix what’s broken. These records are tied to your account ID and are designed to hold identifiers and counts, not your name, email, or phone number.
About guests and fans
- Guest-list entries: a guest’s name, phone number, ticket details, and check-in status, entered by the tour or venue staff so the guest can get into the show and receive event texts (see our SMS Policy). We also record who on the tour confirmed the guest’s consent to texts, and when.
- Audience signups: the email address and/or phone number a fan chooses to share to hear from that artist, with the date and the show where they signed up. This is offered at the merch register once a sale is complete, on the same iPhone the sale was rung up on, and the fan enters their own details. Contact details are stored only if the fan checks the box — a separate box for email and for text — and a form without it is not stored. Signing up is never a condition of buying anything.
- Poll answers: after a purchase, a fan may be shown one short poll question chosen by the artist (for example, a question about merch preferences). Answering is optional, never a condition of buying anything, and the answers go to that artist. Answers are not linked to the fan’s name or contact details.
- Merch purchases: what was sold at the register. Card payments are processed by Stripe — Homie never sees or stores card numbers. If a customer asks for a receipt, the email address or phone number they give is used to deliver it and kept with the sale record.
- Self-order merch purchases: when a fan buys merch from their own phone at a show for pickup at the merch table, we collect their name, mobile phone number, the order contents, and the order’s pickup status. The phone number is used to look up the order at pickup and, only if the fan ticks the optional box at checkout, to send order-status texts for that order (see our Order Texts page and SMS Policy). We record the time and wording of that consent with the order. Card payments are processed by Stripe inside the checkout page; Homie never sees or stores card numbers. Order records are kept with the artist’s sale records.
About venue and business contacts
Tours enter venue and promoter contact details (name, role, email, phone) to advance shows, and settlement contact details to send settlement reports. This information lives with the tour’s records, is visible to the team members the tour has given access, and is used to contact the venue only at the tour’s direction.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the service described above.
- To send event-related text messages to guests who provided their number for a show (guest-list confirmations, entry instructions, show-day updates) — per our SMS Policy.
- To send order-status texts (order placed, ready for pickup, refund) to merch customers who opted in at checkout — per our SMS Policy.
- To deliver receipts, settlement reports, team invitations, subscription emails (like renewal reminders), and other messages needed to run the service.
- To let an artist keep and download the list of fans who explicitly signed up to hear from that artist, and to share poll answers with the artist who asked the question.
- To keep the service secure — monitoring for errors, abuse, and unauthorized access.
We do not run ads, and we do not sell personal information. Ever.
Phone numbers and SMS
No mobile information, phone numbers, or SMS consent data are ever shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone for any purpose other than delivering the messages described in our SMS Policy. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.
How information is shared
We share information only where it’s needed to run the service:
- Service providers: the companies we use to process payments, deliver text messages, host and back up data, send email, and report crashes. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and we will tell you who they are if you ask.
- The artist you interact with: if you join a guest list or sign up as a fan of an artist, that information belongs to that artist and their team — that’s who you’re sharing it with, and Homie processes it on their behalf.
- Within a tour: tour content is visible to the team members the tour owner has granted access, according to per-feature permission levels.
- Recipients you choose: settlement reports, guest-list reports sent to a venue, and receipts go to the addresses the tour or the customer provides.
- Lookups you trigger: typing an address in the app uses Apple’s address search to suggest matches, and checking a flight’s status opens a Google search for that flight number. What you type in those lookups goes to Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.
- Legal: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Homie, our users, or others.
Text-message opt-in data and consent for Homie’s SMS programs (guest-list texts and order-status texts) are never part of any audience list or export and are never shared with the artist for their own messaging or with any other third party; the artist’s merch staff see an order’s phone number only inside Homie, to hand over that order. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.
Audience lists and exports
Why we collect it and where it goes. When a fan signs up at a merch table, they are asking to hear from that artist. Homie collects the email address or phone number for that purpose and makes it available to that artist, who can view the list in Homie and download a copy to use in their own mailing tools. That is the entire purpose of the signup. Audience signups are a separate, opt-in list; they never include numbers collected for guest-list or order-status texts. Homie does not email or text an artist’s audience — the artist does that from their own tools — and Homie never sells the list to anyone.
The artist has agreed to rules about using it. Every artist accepts our Terms of Use before they can run a tour on Homie. Those terms require them to use an exported list only for what the fan signed up for, to honor unsubscribe and deletion requests fans send them, to follow the law when contacting fans, and never to sell or rent the list. If an artist uses a fan’s details for anything else, they have broken their agreement with Homie, and how they use that downloaded copy is their responsibility. Homie remains responsible for the copy it holds.
What Homie can and cannot reach. From the moment a list is exported, the copy in the artist’s hands is governed by the artist’s own privacy practices, not this policy. To stop hearing from an artist, use the unsubscribe link in their email or contact the artist. If you ask us, we will delete the copy Homie holds, but we cannot reach a copy an artist has already downloaded.
Payments
All card payments are handled by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never touch Homie’s servers. Artists who take register payments complete identity verification with Stripe, and Stripe processes their payment and identity data as an independent business under Stripe’s own privacy policy. Homie keeps records of sales amounts, items, and payment status — not card data. When a register payment is taken with Tap to Pay, the device’s location is processed while taking the payment because card networks require it.
Subscriptions purchased inside the iOS app are billed by Apple to your Apple ID; Apple processes your payment as an independent business under its own privacy policy, and Homie receives signed transaction records — never your card or Apple ID details. Homie keeps those transaction records (and receives renewal, refund, and cancellation updates from Apple) to know which accounts are subscribed.
Data retention and deletion
- Homie users can delete their account in the app’s settings. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day window during which you can restore the account by signing back in; after that, account data is deleted or anonymized. Completing the purge can take longer where money is still moving — an in-flight payment, an open card dispute, or a remaining Stripe balance pauses it until resolved. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — cancel that in iOS Settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
- Financial records: tours that hold sales, payment, or settlement records are kept in archived form even after account deletion, because accounting, tax, and card-dispute obligations outlive the account. The deleted account holder’s own identity is removed, but the tour is kept intact — so guest-list and audience contact details entered on that tour, and venue contacts, are retained with it. We keep these because they are part of the records behind the money: who was on a guest list, who a settlement was sent to, and the consent behind any texts. A guest or fan can still ask us to remove their information (see “Your rights”).
- Subscription records: like the Stripe records above, Apple transaction records for subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are kept as part of the financial history that accounting and dispute obligations require, and are removed with the account’s purge once nothing financial remains open.
- Opt-out records: when a guest replies STOP or an email address hard bounces, we keep that number or address on a suppression list even after other data is deleted, precisely so the opt-out keeps being honored.
- Guests: replying STOP stops texts immediately. Guest-list entries are part of the tour’s show records and are kept with them; a guest can ask us to remove their information (see “Your rights”).
- Fans: a fan can ask us to delete the copy of their signup that Homie holds. Copies an artist has already downloaded are outside Homie’s reach, and requests about those go to the artist.
- Stripe records: Stripe retains payment and identity-verification data under its own policy; deleting a Homie account does not delete a Stripe account.
Your rights
To ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your information, email support@homieontour.com from the address involved (or with enough detail for us to find and verify your record; an authorized agent can ask on your behalf). We respond to every request, and we honor the privacy rights that apply to you under the law where you live. We never sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right. Once an artist has downloaded their audience list, that copy is theirs and Homie has no access to it. To stop hearing from an artist, or to have their copy removed, contact the artist directly — the unsubscribe link in any email they send is the fastest route. We can only act on the copy we hold.
Where data lives
Homie is operated from the United States, and data is stored and processed on servers in the United States. If you use Homie from outside the US, your information is transferred to the US and protected as this policy describes. Before Homie is offered in the EU or UK, we will name our local privacy representatives here.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit; files you upload, databases, and backups are encrypted at rest; access follows least-privilege permissions, and authorization denials are logged and monitored. No system is perfectly secure.
Children
Homie is a professional tool for touring teams. It is not directed to children, you must be at least 16 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, for Homie users, give notice in the app or by email.
